A Kindred Spirit
Synopsis
"What ultimately distinguishes madness from mysticism is the direction of the affected person’s life..."
It’s the Spring of 1982 – the Vernal Equinox to be exact. The world has just breathed a collective sign of relief when a dreaded planetary alignment known as the Jupiter Effect passed without incident -- that is everyone except Niki Perceval. The Doomsday event was going to be Niki's ticket out of Ottumwa, Iowa. The end of the world was the last hope for this young newspaper reporter who couldn’t face another day of covering corrupt, cynical small town politicians. She won’t have to. Niki doesn’t know it, but she’s on the verge of a cosmic convergence that will make the petered-out planetary alignment pale in comparison.
It isn't visions of the Virgin Mary or visitations from bug-eyed gray-skinned aliens that will forever change her life. Niki is about to meet a science fiction writer with a special mission. There’s only one problem -- he’s dead.
Just before a series of strokes prematurely ended his life and career, author Philip K Dick had uncovered a true story more bizarre than any of his wild speculative fiction. He may be dead, but he isn’t done. The story must be told. From Phil’s unique perspective, there’s only one person for the job.
Not only is this the story of a psychic relationship between a young journalist and a dead author, it’s a story of hope and of finding a Kindred Spirit!
