Officers and Men of Company C, 4th Texas Volunteers:
The following lists the events and the event coordinator(s) of Co C for 2008. Some events have tentative dates and/or tentative schedules -- so bookmark this webpage as it will be updated often.
 

o January 19, Sat: Live Fire Shoot at the Socorro Gun Club, Socorro, NM. Rendezvous at the Socorro Gun Club by 10:00am and bring $5 to help Leonard Clapes pay for target silhouettes. Event will have pistol & shoulder arm competition plus a shoot -out for the captain's cup won this year by Don Shoemaker. Event will end by about 3:00pm. 4th Texas Vols are invited to meet at Denny's restaurant in Socorro at 8:45am for morning rations.

o February 29-March 1-2, Fri - Sun: Battles for Socorro Event. To access two movie clips of the 2008 event courtesy of Mike & Barbara Bilbo do the following:

o March 9, Sun: Albuquerque Occupation Event. To view a few images of this event -- click here.

o March 8-9, Sat - Sun: Annual Reenactment at Picacho Pass State Park in Arizona. The Arizona State Park at Picacho Pass will be sponsoring its annual Civil War in the Southwest this March 8-9, 2008.

o April 27, Sun: Annual Confederate Memorial Day Ceremony at Santa Fe National Cemetery. This ceremony is jointly sponsored by Co C and the NMSCV 1st Brigade consisting of Camps 1385, 2033, 2075 & the NM United Daughters of the Confederacy.

o May 3-4, Sat-Sun: Annual Golondrinas Museum Reenactment at La Cienega, NM. This event, co-sponsored by the NM Civil War Commemorative Congress (NMCWCC) & the Golondrinas Museum, commemorates the 146th anniversary of the Battles of Apache Canyon & Glorieta that occurred March 26 & 28, 1862, respectively.
Event coordinator is Madeleine Quillen.

updatea o June 14-15, Sat-Sun: Royal Gorge Living History Event -- Canon City, CO. This will be the 4th annual event. Saturday will include an afternoon  battle across the bridge like last year. Saturday evening a night battle will occur. Before the night battle supper for all participants will be provided. On Sunday morning following church services, a battle in the old town will occur.
Fuel money for reenactors traveling more than 100 miles will be paid -- but you must register by June 10. For more info including how to register -- click here.

o June 20-22, Fri-Sun: Fort Garland Living History Event, Fort Garland, CO. This will be the Fort Garland 150th anniversary commemorative event. This is a Federal impression event hosted by Co K of the OFGMR -- all CW & Indian wars era Federal military impressions are welcome.
Co C members who wish to participate contact Larry Pope.

Cancelled o August 8-10, Fri-Sun: Fort Stanton Tactical & Living History Event -- Fort Stanton, New Mexico. This event is cancelled for 2008 -- this includes BOTH the Fort Stanton Live AND the tactical events.
