Snowshoeing
Having fun in the snow.
Most trips are weekend day outings near Albuquerque. Snowshoeing has gained popularity recently and we are doing more of these trips than in the past. There are several beginners' snowshoe trips each winter for those new to the sport.
Even in the desert, Winter brings snow. You don't have to stay
inside waiting for warm weather, the high country of New Mexico's
mountains offers ample opportunity to lay wide tracks. The Club maintains a small inventory of rental snowshoes for anyone interested in experimenting with backcountry snow travel.
