Demonstration of Interactive Forms

These examples come from a web site that I am developing for a new business. The finished product should be online soon.

This example of interactive forms using PHP includes a mortgage calculator with an option to find the minimum payment or see the effect of paying the loan off early by making larger payments. After the first calculation, both the new results and the latest previous result are shown, so that you don't have to write down all the numbers to compare them. There is also a refinance calculator to compare the costs of an existing and a proposed mortgage, again with the option of making larger payments to reduce the term of the loan.

There is also a form to pre-qualify for a mortgage. Since the form is rather long, we divided it into sections, with one section appearing only when there is to be a co-borrower. The script checks each section for completeness before allowing the visitor to proceed. The visitor can step forward and backward through the sections that have been filled in, to review or correct the entries. The visitor can also stop the submission process, but the script makes an attempt to convince him or her to continue. As a last chance, the script offers to accept the partially-completed application.

Please try out the application form. The script does not check whether entries make sense, only that they are not missing. It will not send any actual e-mail, but it will tell you when this would have happened on the real site.
