Liberation
Stalag Luft VIIA was liberated on April 29 1944. Lt. Pierce and a fellow he has since identified by the name of Fox, travelled with a 3rd Army tank crew for several weeks and finally made their way to Paris. The tank crew gave Lt. Pierce a German camera which contained a roll of film.. Being an ardent photographer, he shot the remaining frames on the roll. After his return to the U.S. the pictures were developed. These are the results and perhaps chronicle his adventures after liberation better than a narrative alone.
