Honor Flight Network (tm)

I quote from the page:

Honor Flight is a non profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans -- WW II survivors along with those other veterans that may be terminally ill. ...

THOMAS
Want to know exactly what the politicians in the US Congress are trying to pass now?
Want to read the actual wording of a Bill before the Congress?
THOMAS will allow you to search by Bill Number (e.g. HR-xyz or S-abc) or by a word or phrase within the Bill.

Lots of links to other good information, too.

This is a very good site for anyone who cares what the politicians are actually up to.

Information about a fake “gun-rights group”

There is an organization calling themselves “American Shooters & Hunters Assn” being promoted by the media and various anti-gun organizations as a “gun-rights group.”

What Part of "Do NOT Call" Do You Not Understand?

The IVR (aka touch-tone menu) Cheat Sheet™
If you hate touch-tone menus as much as I do, you may find some useful information on this site.

It was by Paul English; it has moved to the
gethuman 500 database

Here's what Paul has to say:

Thursday, 2-February-2006

The "get human" fury unleashed by over one million consumers has become too great to be handled by the sole blogger who started this campaign in 2005.

The database of secret phone numbers and codes has now moved to the new website www.gethuman.com. Please change your bookmarks.

Paul English

The link above will now take you to the new site rather than sending you through Paul's site.

Thanks, Paul, for having begun this movement!

The Speed Trap Exchange
Just what it sounds like!
Plus related information about laws, working to eliminate speed traps, etc.

Warning: Neither of these seem to work correctly (if at all) on my system (freeBSD 4.11 running the X window system, version 4.4.0 with the browser, opera 9.24). I hope that, if others with more main-stream platforms have similar problems, they will let me know:

NIST Web Clock
Compare your computer's time with UTC at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In my opinion, this isn't nearly as useful as the old JAVAclock from bldrdoc.gov; all glitz and no substance. But, like the feller says, "Your mileage may vary..."

US Naval Observatory Master Clock
Clock runs for about 30 seconds; reload page to restart.
Defaults to UTC (aka Zulu) Time -- once called Greenwich Mean Time or GMT.
