1. SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE STATEWIDE —
DEADLINE March 3, 2008

Notah Begay III Scholarship Program - click for application
Professional golfer Notah Begay III established this scholarship fund in 1999 to benefit Native American athletes attending college. Awards are made to high school graduates demonstrating strong academic achievement and participation in any varsity level sport. Two $2,000 awards will be made.

Additional criteria:
· applicants must be Native American scholar-athletes
· minimum GPA 3.0
· attend a community college, 4 year college or university full time
· include in your personal statement how you plan to give back to your community after college
Additional required attachments:
·
copy of FAFSA, Student Aid Report or statement of financial aid
· proof of tribal enrollment or Certificate of Indian Blood (minimum 25%)
· one reference from a current academic teacher or counselor
· one reference from an athletic coach
 

New Mexico Manufactured Housing Association Scholarship Program -

This fund was established in 1996 by the Manufactured Housing Association to provide scholarship awards to New Mexico high school graduates residing in a manufactured home. Two or more awards are made annually up to $1,000 each.

Additional criteria:
· student applicant MUST live in a mobile/manufactured home
· minimum GPA 3.0
· attend a college or university full time
Additional required attachments:
· written statement of financial need
· proof of residency in a mobile/manufactured home: a copy of title or rental agreement OR retail installment contract OR county tax assessment
· one reference from a teacher or counselor (1 page, 1 side only)
  


All applicants to Albuquerque Community Foundation Scholarship Programs must be:

  • New Mexico residents for a minimum of one year.

  • Attending a U.S. post-secondary, accredited, not-for-profit educational institution.

  • Some programs are only eligible for students attending New Mexico colleges/universities and some programs are available only to Albuquerque residents.

  • Reference Form included with application is optional. References are welcome to write a personal letter instead of using the form.

LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED OR PRINTED.

ACF scholarship and financial aid awards are available ONLY to New Mexico residents and to those meeting specific criteria. Application deadlines vary between March and July. Awards begin with the fall semester.
