Jan Hosea & Associates (Claudia Lucas and Carol Kline) works with grass roots organizations to provide a full range of services including board and executive director development, searches, strategic planning, retreats, fund development planning, coaching of new professionals in development, staff training, retreats, seminars and workshops, grant writing, special event planning and management.
Mrs. Hosea holds the prestigious Master of Arts Degree in Philanthropy and Development, for which there are only 150 in the US and Canada. She taught for three years at the Masters level at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Jan has facilitated retreats and planning sessions for over 25 organizations in New Mexico and is a frequent speaker on philanthropic and nonprofit topics. She is published in the area of board enhancement. Additionally she is a graduate of the J.W. Kellogg School of Nonprofit Management, Kellogg Center, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
Positions of note that Mrs. Hosea has held include:
- Executive Director/Center Chapter Manager, American Red Cross Wichita County Chapter and the Red River Regional Blood Center.
- Director of Development for the University of New Mexico School of Law.
- Believing that giving back to the community is very important, Jan is always active in nonprofit organizations in Albuquerque. Currently she is President of the Board of Directors for the Albuquerque Arts Alliance; a Board Member for Association of Fundraising Professionals (Formerly - National Society of Fund Raising Executives), and the just retired Jr. Warden of St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral.
- Regional Vice-President, The Metanoia Group. A nonprofit outreach program of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. The group works in areas of nonprofit management, fund raising, board and staff training, development coaching, searches, capital campaign feasibility studies, capital campaign counsel, retreats, seminars and other speaking and training opportunities.
