Account Types and Pricing

Southwest Cyberport charges a fixed hourly fee for connect time with a monthly minimum. The basic account includes an email address and a PPP account for dialup. Additionally you can request shell access on our login servers. We don't allow shell access by default for security reasons. If you'd like to use our login servers you'll need to have an SSH client, like Putty for Windows machines or NiftlyTelnet for Macintoshes. In an effort to provide better security we no longer support telnet connections. There are three connect time plans available. We do not offer an unlimited access account. With 125 hours the Deluxe plan provides provides you with a large amount of internet time and still allows us to provide a superior quality service to all of our members. There is a $20 one-time signup fee for all accounts. Give us a try, see for yourself what Southwest Cyberport's services can do for you.

If you need Internet software, we offer Netscape Navigator Dial-up Kit (Macintosh and PC) at no extra charge. This kit includes disks or CD, and documentation.

Users are given 3 megabytes (MB) of permanent disk space for storage of personal files. Additional disk space may be purchased for $0.35 per MB per month. Several MB of temporary storage for short-term needs is available upon request for no extra charge.

A single household or business may purchase secondary dial-up user accounts for a flat fee of $5 each per month, not including connect charges. All of a household's user accounts are billed at the same rate, based on the chosen Pricing Plan. The monthly minimum applies to the sum of all usage by one household or business. For more then 2 secondary accounts, we recommend the deluxe pricing plan.

If you only need an additional email box, and don't need to track which person is using the dialup time we offer email-only secondary accounts for $2.50 a month.

Discounts are also available for paying in advance: 5% for 6 months and 10% for 12 months. Buying in advance also protects you against any rate increases or changes in pricing structure during the pre-paid period.
