The hydraulics section contains movies depicting pressure gradients in flowing fluids.  The first example shows fluid flow over a weir, a fundamental phenomenon in fluid mechanics.  The high pressure region where the stream of water impacts prevents free flow of the water trapped behind the impacting stream.  The second two examples show turbulent kinetic energy contours in the containment pool of a PWR nuclear power plant following a pipe break accident.  The turbulent energy contours are one measure used to depict transport, settling, and suspension of debris in the pool that forms during a pipe break accident.
