Gravity Wave Phenomena
Gravity wave phenomena is a familiar process to virtually everyone. The most commen example is water waves at the beach. The first example here is a similar case, in which gravity waves are sloshing in a tank with a sloping sidewall. Another gravitational instability is the slumping of high density fluid into low density fluid. The second example here is very similar to the Rayleigh- Taylor instability examples except that the initial condition is a vertical slab of cold dense gas surrounded by slabs of warmer low density gas.
