To use this service you’ll need to download an ipassconnect client. Supported operating systems include Windows XP, Windows Vista, and MacOS X 10.4 and above. Pricing information and the latest iPassconnect clients are found in our Members section. You’ll need your logname and password to access these.

Dialup services are available in all major and many smaller US and international cities. iPass has POPs in most parts of the world. In the US most POP are priced at $3.12/hr. Pricing information on dialups will be listed in the info tooltip when you run ipassconnect. Please check the download page for pricing information on wireless and ethernet POPs before you travel as that info isn’t available from the ipassconnect client.

Dialup services with ipassconnect works like your usual network connectoid. Be sure you’re using your normal dialup (or broadband) connection when you  return from traveling.

We recommend  you try ipassconnect out locally before you leave on a trip. This will allow you to iron out the process while you’ve got easy access to our tech support group, especially if you’re planning to travel abroad where time zone differences may make connect with us difficult.

Cost of Roaming

You can save 30-50% compared to long-distance and toll-free calls when using our global Internet roaming service. Roaming fees are on a “pay-per-use” basis and rates range by remote location. The roaming service charges will be included in your monthly bill.

Your billing is based on time usage. If you don’t use the service you won’t be charged. The hourly access fee varies with your country and location and type of access, dialup, wireless, or wired ethernet (available at some hotels). varies with your country and location.

Using the “All-cities” or “Toll-Free” numbers

The iPass All-cites or Toll-free numbers are all based on 800 usage and this is one of the most expensive types of POPs to use. When you are outside a major metropolitan area and find you’re only given toll-free options you may want to see what numbers are available for the larger city. These will probably be a better option for you. For example: in New Mexico, if you select Rio Rancho, you’ll only be given Toll-free options. However you can dial Albuquerque numbers as local numbers from Rio Rancho and there are a number of local numbers for Albuquerque. You’ll need to check local resources to determine what areas are local calls for you.

Direct wired ethernet and Wireless Connections

Cost information for wireless and wired POPs can be found on the software download page. Please review these before leaving as this pricing info is not listed in the connection tool’s phone book. The charges for the iPass Global Internet Roaming service will be billed monthly and appear on your monthly invoice statement.
