Microsoft Access Database

Dar Scott provides computer programming services and related services. As part of this he builds Access applications. Dar Scott is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Access is the database application from Microsoft. It is available as part of Office Professional or as a separate product. Access has strong data storage capability, good reporting capability and good query capability. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code can be added to enhance the features. Full database oriented applications can be built with Access.

Selected Access Projects

Accounting System Conversion. For Heller Distributing Company (an ice cream distributer), Dar Scott created conversion applications in Access that supported the conversion from Great Plains to MMA accounting software. The software was designed to reassign account numbers and customer numbers in the conversion. It also took care of other housekeeping problems and worked around errors in import and export routines in the accounting packages.

Zone Reports from GL. Dar Scott created an Access application that collected data from an accounting system and generated reports that could not be handled by the system. Presentation was superior to that of the general ledger accounting system.
