RAD Applications

Dar Scott provides programing services using Rapid Application Development (RAD) systems such as Delphi (Pascal), and Borland C++ Builder for Windows and Linux operating systems. These services have created technical applications and database applications. (Dar Scott also creates Windows applications using environments such as Access VBA, Visual C++, Turbo C++ and other programming environments.)

RAD environments allow human interface review early in programming projects and cut programming time. For many technical and scientific needs, LabVIEW qualifies as a RAD environment and Dar Scott has experience in creating LabVIEW applications. Also, for most needs, Revolution qualifies as a RAD environment. All are suitable for multiple operating systems.

Selected RAD Projects

Power Industry Database Interface. Dar Scott designed a database for storing power line quality data based on industry standards and proprietary data formats. The interface was designed with Delphi; it coordinated graphical displays and source information.

Instrument Host Application. Dar Scott designed and coded the host application for testing, calibrating and seting up a portable data acqusition system through a serial link. The project included elaborate panel design, the development of signal processing code, and the design of a flexible report generation system. This was coded in Delphi and later ported to Borland C++ Builder.

Multiplatform Raw Floppy Interface. For J&M Systems Dar Scott wrote Optima++ applications to read and write all sectors of a floppy for several Windows operating systems.

Audio Watermark GUI. For Blue Spike Dar Scott enhanced the GUI interface of a watermark product using C++ Builder.
