Opportunities for Christ
THE NURSERY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!  If, heaven forbid, there were any kind of emergency and Shelby was directing her attention to that, there would be no other adult with her to get help or watch over the other children.
Also, there are now (happily!) some Sundays when Shelby has more than 6 children in the nursery and another adult is required for appropriate levels of child supervision.
We are looking for people who are willing to volunteer some Sundays to be in the nursery with Shelby. We’d like 10-12 volunteers so that each person would only need to take a turn once every 2 to 3 months. If you are willing to help, contact Ellen Genne at 232-2723 or 280-1115.

MEMORIALS - Do you know that our church has a Memorial Fund? This is a way for anyone to donate in memory of those who have gone on before us. If you wish to donate to this, just write your check to the church, and note “Memorial for ________________”. This is very special way to honor our loved one.

GRACE GATHERING  will be collecting items needed to help fill a Basket of Hope for very ill children and newborns in the specialty unit of UNM Children’s Hospital. Because each basket is assembled for the child based on their age and interests, each Branch keeps a variety of items on hand. The baskets also include some helpful items for the parents, a Bible, and inspirational material. If you have questions or for more information call Jeanie Smith, 266-0763. Brochures are available on the table in the narthex. All items collected are used in New Mexico.

FLOWER CALENDAR
THE FLOWER CALENDAR FOR 2008 has been placed on the wall in the narthex. You may sign up now if you would like to place flowers on the altar on a special Sunday or for a special occasion. There are many Sundays open for altar arrangements, so choose the Sunday you want!

FAMILY ASSISTANCE
Christ UMC has a special fund called “The Family Assistance Fund.” Monies are expended from this account when members have unexpected emergencies. From time to time we need to replenish monies by contributions from members, above and beyond their usual offerings. If you would like to contribute to this fund indicate the extra donation to go to “The Family Assistance Fund.” Warren Heffron, Chair of Family Assistance Fund Committee

CAN YOU HELP?
We’re trying to put together a current list of people willing to be Communion servers. If you are interested in helping to serve Christ Church in this way, please call Beth Norman, 254-3679, and let her know. If you’ve never served before, please don’t let this deter you, as there is an information sheet available upon request. Even if you have served before, please call Beth to get your name on the Communion server list (unless she had already talked to you about it recently). We’d like to have an up-to-date list of volunteers. Thanks!
